Catatan Dialog Layar Kaca
Halaman

Amy : Are you falling in love with her?
Theodore : Is that making me a freak?
Amy : No, no. I think anybody who falls
in love is a freak. It's a crazy thing to do. It's kind of like a form of
socially acceptable insanity.
—Her (2013)
Elizabeth Bennet : Charlotte!
Charlotte Lucas : My dear Lizzy. I've come to tell
you the news. Mr. Collins and I are... engaged.
Elizabeth Bennet : To be married?
Charlotte Lucas : Yes of course. What other kind of
engaged is there?
[Lizzy
looks shocked]
Charlotte Lucas : Oh, for Heaven's sake! Don't look
at me like that Lizzy! There is no earthly reason why I shouldn't be as happy
with him as any other.
Elizabeth Bennet : But he's ridiculous!
Charlotte Lucas : Oh hush! Not all of us can afford
to be romantic. I've been offered a comfortable home and protection. There's
alot to be thankful for.
Elizabeth Bennet : But...
Charlotte Lucas : I'm twenty-seven years old, I've
no money and no prospects. I'm already a burden to my parents and I'm
frightened. So don't you judge me, Lizzy. Don't you dare judge me!
—Pride & Prejudice (2005)
Neil : I don't understand why people
wanna get married.
Ben
: No, no guy
actually wants to get married. And if they do, all they're really thinking
about? All the women they're gonna miss out on.
Neil : I don't want be with anybody else,
just Beth.
Ben : I don't know, man, I...
Neil : Why'd you get married?
—He's Just Not That Into You (2009)
Su-Bin : If you want stability, get married.
Jeong-Ha : No, I won't.
Su-Bin : Will you say no even if Sa Hye-Jun
asks?
Jeong-Ha : Even he can't change my belief.
Su-Bin : Then, how are you his fan?
Jeong-Ha : Only the thought of love makes you happy.
I don't want to be in love, but I want to be happy.
—Record of Youth (2020)
Tina Modotti : I don't believe in marriage. [crowd
laughs]
Tina Modotti : No, I really don't. Let me be
clear about that. I think at worst it's a hostile political act, a way for
small-minded men to keep women in the house and out of the way, wrapped up in
the guise of tradition and conservative religious nonsense. At best, it's a
happy delusion—these two people who truly love each other and have no idea how
truly miserable they're about to make each other. But, but, when two people
know that, and they decide with eyes wide open to face each other and get
married anyway, then I don't think it's conservative or delusional. I think
it's radical and courageous and very romantic. To Diego and Frida.
—Frida (2002)
Diego Rivera : I'm here to ask you to marry me. [For second time, after their divorce]
Frida Kahlo : I don't need rescuing, Diego.
Diego Rivera : I do.
Frida Kahlo : [sighs] I've lost the toes of one
foot. My back is useless, I have an infection of the kidneys. I smoke, I drink,
I curse. I can't have children. I have no money and a stack of hospital bills.
Shall I keep going?
Diego Rivera : It's practically a letter of
recommendation.
—Frida (2002)
Kate : I still think, though, that I am
not ready to compete with women like you. Even though, technically, I have been
competing with women like you all along. I just didn’t know it.
Carly : We’re not in competition. We got
played by the same guy. I call it a tie. Tequilla or vodka?
—The Other Woman (2014)
Anastasia : Do you really think I'm royalty?
Dimitri : You know I do!
Anastasia : Then stop bossing me around!
—Anastasia (1998)
Han Yi-Sang : I'm not dating because it's
comfortable being alone.
Han Yi-Sang : To be honest, you envy me.
Nam Soo-Cheol : Like crazy.
[Big
smile & laugh together]
—Oh My Baby (2020)
Enola Holmes : No! Please don't do this to me.
Let me remain happy. I am happy here.
Mycroft Holmes : You are a young woman now, Enola.
You need an education.
Enola Holmes : Test me on anything you think I
need to know in order to be sufficient for this world.
Mycroft Holmes : If she taught you so well you
wouldn't be standing in your undergarments in front of me, would you? You have
no hope of making a husband in your current state.
Enola Holmes : I don't want a husband!
—Enola Holmes (2020)
The Chancellor : [to Hua Zhou—from official
trailer] Have you no son?
Hua Zhou : I am blessed with two daughters. I will fight.
—Mulan (2020)
Julie : Don't you need a man to raise a
man?
Dorothea : No, I don't think so.
—20th Century Women (2016)
Geeta Phogat : What kind of father forces his
daughters to become wrestlers? Makes them wake up at 5AM to run. Works them
like slaves. Makes them fight boys. And if they protest, he cuts their hair.
May God never give anyone such a father.
Their friend (a girl, a young
bride) : I wish
God had given me such a father. [Looking at Geeta & Babita] At least, your
father thinks about you. Otherwise, our reality is the moment a girl is born,
teach her to cook and clean, make her do all the household chores. And once she
turns 14, marry her off. Get rid of the burden. And hand her over to a man,
whom she has never met. Make her bear children and raise them. That's all
she's good for. At least your father considers you his child. He is fighting against the whole world. He is silently tolerating their taunts. Why? So that the two
of you can have a future... a life. What is he doing wrong?
—Dangal (2016)
Jo Yi-Seo : Have you ever thought that it
would've been better if you had never been born?
Jang Geun-Soo : No. Why would you think that?
Jo Yi-Seo : Just because. We all grow old and
die, you know. But we have to study and do other things fully knowing that,
until the day we die. Isn't life so tiring?
Jang Geun-Soo : Are you here to die?
Jo Yi-Seo : No. [Smirk]
—Itaewon Class (2020)
Elizabeth Harmon (Beth) : I would say it is much easier to
play chess without the burden of an Adam's apple.
—The Queen’s Gambit (2020)
Alice Harmon : Dark’s nothing to be afraid of. In
fact, I’d go as far as saying there’s nothing to be afraid of. Anywhere. The
strongest person is the person who isn’t scared to be alone. It’s other people
you got to worry about. Other people. They’ll tell you what to do, how to feel.
Before you know it, you’re pouring your life out in search of something other
people told you to go look for. Someday, you’re going to be all alone, so you
need to figure out how to take care of yourself.
—The Queen’s Gambit (2020)
Alice Harmon : [to young Beth] Men are going to
come along and want to teach you things. Doesn’t make them any smarter. In most
ways, they’re not, but it makes them feel bigger. They can show you how things
are done. You just let them blow by, and you go on ahead, and do just what the
hell you feel like.
—The Queen’s Gambit (2020)
Mr. Han : Think again. It's a path filled with hardship.
While trying to do good you'll fail everyone. You could get
hurt.
Seo Dal-Mi : Mr. Han, I've given it a lot of thought, and I think I actually enjoy hardship.
So don't worry too much and
thanks for the coffee [big smile & go away].
—Start Up (2020)
