Rekomendasi Lagu Aodhan King dari Album Hillsong Y&F
Sudah tahu tentang Hillsong Young & Free (atau yang sering juga disingkat Hillsong Y&F)? Hillsong Y&F dibentuk di tahun 2012, sebagai salah satu pelayanan musik dari Hillsong Music. Sebagaimana namanya, lagu-lagu Hillsong Y&F memang ditujukan spesifik untuk anak muda, dengan paduan musik yang juga lebih menyesuaikan dengan jiwa anak muda. Nah, Aodhan King (atau yang bernama lengkap Aodhan Thomas King) adalah salah satu member dari Hillsong Y&F, seorang worship leader dan song composer. Lelaki yang masih berusia hampir 28 tahun di Natal Desember 2020 ini, menulis lagu-lagu Hillsong Y&F yang menurut saya, sangat jujur, sangat dalam, dan spiritually romantic for Almighty—meski tidak selalu dengan musik yang akustik atau slow pace (simak lagu Let Go dan Need Your Love dalam daftar di bawah ya!).

Saya sendiri baru saja notice tentang Aodhan King ini kemarin, setelah bertahun-tahun lamanya menyenangi lagu-lagu yang ditulis dan dirilisnya bersama Hillsong Y&F. Meski sudah mengenal lagu-lagu Hillsong semenjak masih berseragam SMA, saya harus mengakui saya tidak banyak mengenal siapa saja anggota-anggotanya—apalagi Hillsong Y&F yang tergolong baru. Beberapa nama, seperti Joel Houston, tentunya akrab, tapi ya sekedar tahu saja. Satu-satunya nama member yang berkesan sebelum ini bagi saya mungkin hanya Taya Smith (yang sekarang sudah menjadi Taya Smith-Gaukrodger, setelah menikah), karena warna suaranya yang bagi saya sangat unik. Ternyata, Aodhan King punya warna suara yang juga unik—saya ingat warna suaranya sejak lagu Sinking Deep (Hillsong Y&F) yang sudah rilis sekitar tahun 2013 dan lagu This Is Living Now (Hillsong Y&F) yang rilis di 2015, meski tak tahu siapa nama vokalisnya.
Namun,
tentu saja, baik Taya maupun Aodhan sama-sama melayani musik secara berkelompok
di Hillsong Music—tak terpisahkan, tak berdiri sendirian. Jika memperhatikan
riwayatnya, Aodhan King juga selalu menulis lagu-lagunya dalam kolaborasi
dengan member yang lain, berdua atau
lebih. Apalagi dalam konteks pelayanan musik kristiani, saya sendiri merasa agak
kesulitan untuk menyamakan mereka 100% dengan para pemusik bergenre sekular. Tricky, karena mereka tidak mengejar
sekedar ekspresi seni atau bahkan profit secara materi (walau ya, tanpa lupa
bersikap realistis, pasti keduanya juga tak bisa disangkal menjadi bagian dalam
musik-musik Hillsong). Karena itu, tulisan ini saya tulis sebagai sekedar
ulasan sekilas saja terhadap lagu-lagu yang ditulis-dinyanyikan Aodhan King
bersama Hillsong Y&F.
Berikut
beberapa lagu-lagu yang ditulis-dinyanyikan Aodhan King bersama Hillsong
Y&F (maupun Hillsong United & Hillsong Worship) yang menjadi favorit
saya, lagi-lagi karena sangat jujur, bermakna begitu dalam (simak lagu Highs & Lows, yang ditulis Aodhan berdasar Mazmur 139: my most fave), dan spiritually romantic—karena banyak
berbicara mengenai ekspresi kasih yang tulus dan apa adanya kepada Kristus.
